The man, The Myth, The Legend

Tony Bader... the comic, the story teller, my hero, idol, the dreamer, everyone's inspriration, and the the man, who shaped the good hearted, fun loving culture here, (seen in this priceless picture) keeps an eye on my son, Aidan (4 yrs), as well as helping the young boy, in finding his own entrepreneurial spirit, tending his very first Lemonade Stand. FYI, while the sign said $0.50 cents, I heard sales pitches, from amused guests and friends such as, " my lemonade is yummy, and cold, so today, I take cold cash only" , "good yummy lemonade! buy one cup for the price of two cups" (ha ha!) and the best, upon my mothers visit, "lemonade is $5 dollars".... thus, the evidence was there enough to assume, that Mr. Tony Bader had prepped him for his day at the "office."

What a wonderful day in the life!
Unforgettable.

The news that follows shares our most recent news with everyone, who has graced us with their presence here over the years. It certainly would not be an enjoyable business, if we didnt have such GREATdown guests, down to earth, friendly people, who appreciate not being treated as a number.

here we go! 2011 is upon us, however 2010 rates are still hanging around. And guess who else is hanging around?????

Tony, without a large press conference, has indeed announced his intentions to come out of retirement, in craving the good times and laughs, he so fondly shares with our guests at our front desk.

Roger Clemens did it. MIkey Jordan. Brett Favre. NOW, drum roll please.... Tony Bader, at the young age of 69, looking 49, has re joined Us at the desk this season!

Tony's story, which would give anyone with a heartbeat, the chills after hearing our family tale of three decades, is a result of chasing one's dreams. Those who know me, can attest to the fact that the apple does not fall far from the tree.

Furthermore, I hold him high, as my idyylic figure and hero, given that I have been gifted an amazingly privileged life packed full of wonderful memories. In growing up in this business, on property we lived, I chose to sit on the couch and contently watched, observed, and listened to my father's eclectic plethora of stories of our Inn, our Family, and his famous jokes (most of which I still cherish hearing him use to this day). Since the early 1980's, my mother and father, have made every sacrifice in the book, to make ends meet, which as a result, kept all of us as humble as humanly possible.

With a father like Tony, I was lucky enough to be shaped, molded, and taught to be a sharp young businessman. MOST importantly, he raised me to step up, chase my dreams, squash any fears of doubt, and believe in blindly following my heart.

Now, nearly 3 decades later, I am thoroughly enjoying the rewarding nature of providing for my parents, and fathering my own son, AIdan. In addition, I have successfully built from scratch, an indoor Skatepark and a company called Frozen Waves Skate, Snow & BmX. My dream, at one time.

Needless to say, with each day being so cherished, I live in full appreciation of his health, and continued presence, as I am once again blessed with new memories. Memories, which I vividly dreamt of forever, in sharing with my hero of a Father.... those of my son playing with my dad.

Tony's first grandson, Aidan, has quite the passion for his Papa. While he absolutely loves to wrestle with his Papa, Aidan has taken an impressive interest in being our little "helper."

I could not possibly ask for much more, as he constantly provides our family with endless laughs, happiness, and priceless memories. Somehow, I have adapted to managing my time to meet success.

Stay tuned... coming soon, our Third Generation of Bader boys will be seen on our site, adding to our original father-son intro video!

Amazingly enough, the great news and status of my business doesn't stop there. How blessed indeed, am I to say there is more to share!

Not only does Tony's good health & return to the front desk, make for humorous times. Not only does the gift of a tight italian family, allow one to catch a precious glimpse the Three Bader generations at work in unison.

Believe it or not, Our family business has grown to show even MORE of a tight knit, helpful and very friendly atmosphere.

It is Human nature to be comforted by a familiar face. We can say, from last season, that we were VERY comfortable, since we had more loyal return guests than any season prior.

The company of familiar faces Here, does not stop with the Bader family; much to the contrary, I am excited to rave about our dedicated staff of local housekeepers of 12 years or more! This allows our guests to be in the most comfort we could provide while staying with us!

That translates to consistency, quality control, smooth runnings.....AND, most importantly, more fun & smiles!

Hard to believe? True. We have Amy, 24 seasons, strong, working alongside Helen, 17 seasons, and Jena, 14 seasons acting as the core.

With last years addition of My life-long great friend, Mr. David Amabello, doubling as me, in running the business with me, has also made me the most appreciative "boss" (no titles here).

This season is bound to be a special one, as we are sporting our most all star packed cast in our time.

Aidan Bader at our first lemonade stand. While that show was a smash hit, Tony, Brandon & David welcomed the weekend's crowd of guests into the Olde Tavern. This season, in which many special occasions are to be celebrated, his grandson's 5th birthday, and his 30th wedding anniversary with our beloved mother!
Most importantly, I have the pleasure to share that we have Tony, this living legend, working alongside, with myself and David.

To all those who know and love Tony dearly, come on up and give him a blast from the past and a trip down memory lane.

See you this season... and enjoy your summer everyone!

The Sun is shining... The Weather is sweet...makes you want to move...those dancing feet.

Presently, i'm working on a webcam to spare everyone, of any further false weather forecasts from destroying potentially great weekends for our visitors! With Memorial Day Weekend, in the books, (Thanks to all, we enjoyed you, see you next year!) we shift from Spring to Summer.

Daily, at this point, we are at the pool. Water...85 degrees. Feels nice. The sun does too.

With June Rates still being discounted, and available to all, still, at $89. In recent years we have watched rates go up to 129 in mid-june. Our special rate, straight from our family, is aimed at high hopes of helping more people afford to get up here, and make those forever lasting priceless memories on Cape Cod!

Over the past 2 weeks, it has been truly heartbreaking to hear of so many who missed out on Cape Cod, because of innaccurate weather forecasts. If anyone would like, call us, for a weather update. This week, 75 sunny, not humid yet. And still they ask, what's your favorite month on Cape Cod.

June... beautiful warm sunny weather, with The National Seashore still being free, and quiet, never crowded, while the Cape is boasting quite an insane list proving that fun, and adventures are aplenty, as seen in the below link to the long list of activities, (i will update for your perusal)
For some, it may be the lack of traffic, for me, it is the weather and the type of person that visits during this month of pure beauty, and my personal favorite...June.

Gardens bursting with color, I'm always working hard during this month. My son is 4 now, rounding the corner to finishing up with his second year of pre-school, and age 5, as well. I enjoy myself, my life, and everyone in it, more than most could ever grab a scope on.

In particular, as i mentioned above, the people, the crowd, the laid back, intelligence, of those crashing the island during this pre-season "summer time" month. the fishing is solid, the sun-index is also, with all the locals back in town, those who come to stay with us up here, truly live their vacations almost exactly how the locals most commonly would.

It is with such offerings, that i present to you all this list... of pure fun...should something strike your interest. Click on it. I'm joking, I mean that upon your arrival, one of us will certainly be able to slide you in the right direction for most everything needed on the getaway, in taking you in under our wing...while we still have time to sit, chat, shoot the breeze, and blog...

The Truro Wine Vineyards, always ready to lead you on one of their Tasting Tours. Yes, Fun. Concerts, live music, abound. Nite life and Day Life...Do we have any June Basket Weaving Party Animals! Hesitate not. Scan Below. Oh, Its there. A Blog this would be not, if in such company, i didn't pay my most proper respects in recommending an action packed afternoon so full of sights & sounds, that auditory overstimulation certainly comes right along with it. Honestly, its interesting. I went...in 8th Grade. I would go back though. I promise. I just haven't yet. Enough suspense? The Sandwich Glass Museum... bring on the Fanatics.
Activities, or relaxation...whatever your pleasure, June is like May. Except 30 degrees warmer, yet only $10 more per nite.

See you soon. At rug weaving!

Come on Down to the Olde Tavern Motel, nicely nestled into the corner of Cape Cod.

More than ever, this year, the locals, have banded together and really put together a solid list of daily and weekly activities, THEREFORE, i have included the link directly to Cape Cod's Ongoing Events & Activities Page

Enjoy & we hope to see you soon!

Cape Cod Summer Baseball

Ladies & Gentlemen, attention all baseball fanatics!!! Eldridge Park, the home to our Orleans Firebirds (formerly known as the Orleans Cardinals) has a longtime reputation for being the Premeir Cape Cod Summer Baseball League Field. Recently renovated, our field received an enormous grant from the YAWKEY FOUNDATION!

The summer Cape Cod Baseball League, in all of it's glorious history, has professional Major League Baseball Scouts in attendance nightly. Players make themselves available for afternoon and post game autographs, and dream-like photo opportunities.

The league's nationwide popularity lends to the fact that, more professional baseball stars have come from our Cape Baseball League, than ALL other summer leagues in the country, combined.

RED SOX GREATS : NOMAR, CARLTON FiSK, and more have played in our backyard!

Other notables, Darryl Strawberry, Frank Thomas, Chris Sabo, Will Clark, and Mark Texeira, and hundreds more.

This incredibly special gem of a collegiate baseball league continues to spark the interest of our nations favorite pastime, and MLB team scouts. On any given night, you may be watching several future Hall of Fame Players.

Our own, Orleans Firebirds are atop the nation's best recruits. Our hometown, Eldridge Park Field, is located on the other side of our 50 acre backyard woodland, and pond.

Its popularity also stems from the summertime week-long baseball camps, which are conducted by players. This has become a fabulous option for family vacations, as well a source of excitement for the next generation of aspiring baseball stars.

Come join us here, for a wonderful evening of summertime baseball, under the lights within walking distance. (as parking is limited)

See website for schedule, call us with questions.

While games remain free to attend, the field also hosts special events such as the Pops in the Park, the United States Marine Corp. Silent Drill Team, and Octoberfest, among many other events; all of which, remain loyal annual guests of ours at the Olde Tavern Motel, given our close proximity to the field!

On property, as well, boasts the advantage of sporting a great playground and tennis courts. (for those lacking the attention for a 9 inning game) In as much as parking is limited, while staying with us, you can walk.
We can also share our LOCAL parking secrets with you to avoid frustration. However, seating is never limited.

For more info, please feel free to
